Construction Contract Signed for Community Clubhouse at North Manly Golf Course

A new $8.7-million community clubhouse will be built at Warringah Golf Club in North Manly, following the signing of a construction contract for the project.

Background to the North Manly Clubhouse Development

Warringah Golf Club and NBC have moved forward with plans to replace the former clubhouse at North Manly, which was closed in 2021 and later sold. The approved plans are part of a broader effort to upgrade local recreational infrastructure and increase access for the wider community.

In 2024, the Northern Beaches Local Planning Panel approved the development application for a two-storey clubhouse at the corner of Pittwater and Kentwell roads. The structure will form part of the council-owned Warringah Recreation Centre, which also includes tennis, squash, and five-a-side soccer courts.

Facilities and Design

The new clubhouse will include a 60-seat restaurant and a function room on the first floor, both overlooking the 18-hole golf course via a terrace. The ground level will house a sports bar for 50 patrons, an outdoor garden lounge with capacity for another 50 people, a pro shop, and administration offices.

The facility has been approved to accommodate up to 320 people at any time and will operate as a registered club with a liquor licence. Notably, the venue will be free of poker machines under an agreement with NBC, which retains ownership of the land.

Construction Timeline and Responsibility

Sydney-based builder Prime Projects has been awarded the construction contract. Work is expected to commence in July 2025 and is projected to take between 10 to 12 months. The building will be funded by Warringah Golf Club, which now holds a 20-year lease over both the clubhouse and the full 18-hole course.

Purpose and Community Use in North Manly

The clubhouse is designed to be accessible to a broad user base, including members of the golf club, casual players, and patrons of the adjacent recreation centre. The development is intended to support community use and provide a local licensed venue in an area between Brookvale and Manly that currently lacks such facilities.

Previous community engagement saw 81 public submissions supporting the proposal. Feedback indicated strong backing for the clubhouse’s family-friendly approach and community-focused operations.

Future Implications

Club officials expect the venue to become a key recreational and social destination in North Manly once construction is complete.
