Freshwater Public Safety Round-Up: 14–19 February Incidents

Police and emergency services responded to a series of reported incidents across Freshwater between 14 and 19 February, based on information received by authorities.



Assault

At approximately 6:45pm on Saturday, 14 February, officers from NSW Police Force were notified of an alleged assault on Oliver Street, Freshwater. Police received the report shortly after the incident was said to have occurred. Inquiries are continuing.

Disorderly Behaviour

Just after 11:45pm on Saturday, 14 February, police received a report of intoxicated youths allegedly causing a disturbance at Freshwater Beach on Kooloora Avenue. The matter was recorded following advice to police.

At about 4:45pm on Sunday, 15 February, officers were informed of a group of youths reportedly behaving in a disorderly manner near Wyndora Avenue, Freshwater. Police received the report and made records of the incident.

Medical Emergencies

Shortly after 1:15pm on Monday, 16 February, police, paramedics and firefighters from Manly Fire Station responded to a report of a man unconscious and not breathing at Charles Street, Freshwater. A 29-year-old man was located with drug paraphernalia present, indicating a suspected opiate overdose. Emergency responders administered naloxone (Narcan), successfully resuscitated him and transported him to Northern Beaches Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Just before 12:30pm on Wednesday, 18 February, paramedics attended a report of a seven-month-old girl experiencing a suspected allergic reaction to eggs. She was treated by NSW Ambulance and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.

Theft

At approximately 3:45pm on Wednesday, 18 February, police received a report of property allegedly stolen from premises on Cavill Street, Freshwater. The matter has been recorded and inquiries are under way.

Hazard

Just before 5:45pm on Thursday, 19 February, police and firefighters from Dee Why Fire Station responded to reports of a powerline falling onto a bus on Wyadra Avenue, Freshwater. All occupants had safely exited the vehicle. Ausgrid was contacted to disconnect the power supply before the bus could be moved.
